WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BERETTA'S CERTIFIED ORGANIC BEEF

AND 'GRASS ONLY' BEEF?

The beef presently sold under the Beretta Organics label is certified organic and has been raised on pastures but also fed grains during the last 2-3 months prior to slaughter to provide marbeling and exterior fat that has historically been associated with quality beef.

Beretta's "Grass Only Beef" is also certified organic- the difference being it has never been fed grain during its life. Our Grass Only Beef tends to be leaner and smaller sized than its grain-fed counterparts.

WHAT DO THE CATTLE EAT DURING OUR CANADIAN WINTERS?

The cattle remain outdoors but are protected from the elements by sheds. They eat stored hay which is nothing more than grasses and legumes harvested and baled during the summer.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS ASSOCIATED WITH GRASS ONLY BEEF?

1. LOWER IN FAT AND CALORIES - Because the cattle is on a grass only diet, the beef is very lean and lower in fat content and calories per ounce.

**We never want one of our beautiful grass fed cuts go to waste-- because it is a lean meat, be sure not to overcook**

2. HIGHER PROTEIN CONTENT PER OUNCE

3. HIGHER LEVELS OF BETA CAROTENE AND VITAMIN E - both important anti-oxidants and tissue protectors

4. HIGHER LEVELS OF OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS - Our favourite "good fats". They play a vital role in every cell and system in your body. A diet full of omega 3's often leads to lower blood pressure, improved cardiovascular health, radiant skin, anti-inflammatory support.

5. HIGHER IN CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACIDS (CLA'S) - Another "good fat" that has been proven to assist the body in combating obesity, diabetes, and tumor growth. It stimulates the immune system and research has begun to show that it may reduce the risk of cancer in humans.

6. GRAIN ALLERGY SENSITIVE - Because Beretta's Grass Only Cattle has never been fed grains (corn, soy, or wheat) individuals with grain allergies can enjoy these products.
